Comments: This is an absolutely gorgeous trail!
There's a down tree at the beginning of the trail that is not so easy to get around - go around it towards the right, that is the easiest way. Don't be discouraged by this, as the rest of the trail is in great condition. There are a few other fallen trees that you have to go over/under, but none are difficult. Be careful with the planks, they can be super slippery. There might be some water running through the trail at points, so waterproof boots are a must. It's possible to do it without extra traction, but microspikes add a lot of safety during the Winter, as parts of the trail will probably be iced. Depending on the specific conditions of the day you want to go, snowshoes might be necessary. When I did this hike, the snow was packed, and a big chunk of the lake was frozen over.
Be aware that this is a super popular trail, so arrive early at the trailhead if you go during the weekend.
Caution: There has been fatalities during the Winter caused by avalanches - make sure to check https://www.nwac.us/ for the current avalanche danger, and be cautions. It is also dangerous to go up the boulder field, and not recommended during any time of the year. I personally don't think it's a good idea to go around the lake during the Winter because of the avalanche danger, but I saw others doing it with snowshoes.

Elevation gain: 435m.
Road: Pretty good, basically no potholes.
Difficulty: Alltrails rates it as moderate, which seems appropriate to me.

There's a down tree at the beginning of the trail that is not so easy to get around - go around it towards the right, that is the easiest way.
